Welcome to Fitzalan Medical Group
Changes in the Practice Due to Coronavirus UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2020
We wanted to explain our decisions around face to face appointments. Throughout the COVID pandemic we have seen patients either remotely (video or telephone call) or face to face and have triaged patients prior the being seen. Our receptionists will take some details and then speak with the triaging GP who works with the reception team, who will then advise you of the best course of action.
We are doing it to protect all our patients but more for the patients who are most at risk – the elderly and those with medical conditions.
We are offering telephone appointments first:
We can either deal with a problem over the phone
Offer a video consultation
Call you in to see us if needed
Refer you to hospital / rapid response team if needed
Visit housebound patients
It is helpful if you can call us before 11am as this allows us to plan our day in terms of demand.
The nurse’s appointments will continue at the practice. However if you have any symptoms of cough, shortness of breath or fevers, please do not attend.
Request from your pharmacy
Post through our letter box
We are currently taking requests via the telephone for your convenience.
Please understand the patients most at risk are the elderly and with medical conditions:
Patients with heart disease
Patients with chronic lung disease
Patients with high blood pressure
We will endeavour to keep you updated in this ever changing environment and thank you for your help and co-operation.
